Eternal God, You have revealed Yourself as the Father of all Life. We praise You for the Fatherly care which You extend to all creation, and especially to us, made in Your image and likeness.
Father, extend Your hand of protection to those threatened by abortion, and save them from its destructive power. Give Your strength to all fathers, that they may never give in to the fears that may tempt them to facilitate abortions.
Bless our families and bless our land, that we may have the joy of welcoming and nurturing the life of which You are the source and the Eternal Father. Amen.
Prayer from: Priests For Life
There is life after abortion. Sometimes getting there seems impossible. But no sin is too big or too ugly or too shameful for Jesus. His Precious Blood covers ALL our sins.
If you or someone you know is suffering after taking part in an abortion, you should know that there are many resources for women, and men, who seek healing and reconciliation after an abortion.
In addition to the links below, please talk to your priest. He can help guide you. It is not unusual for women to feel grief and shame years, even decades, after an abortion. Many men also suffer lasting and deep wounds. The links below may be helpful.

Why abortion deserves special attention in Catholic Social Teaching
By Reverend Thomas D. Willliams, L.C. (USCCB)
"Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person – among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life."
Catechism of the Catholic Church 2270
"God created mankind in His image; in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them."
Genesis 1:27
"You formed my inmost being; You knit me in my mother’s womb. I praise You, because I am wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works! My very self You know. Your eyes saw me unformed; in Your book all are written down; my days were shaped, before one came to be."
Psalm 139:14,16
"But when God, Who from my mother’s womb had set me apart and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son to me so that I might proclaim Him..."
Galatians 1:15-16
"Life must be protected with the utmost care from the moment of conception: abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes."
(Gaudium et Spes) Second Vatican Council, December 7, 1965
“All life has inestimable value even the weakest and most vulnerable, the sick, the old, the unborn and the poor, are masterpieces of God’s creation, made in His own image, destined to live forever, and deserving of the utmost reverence and respect.”
Pope Francis, July 28, 2013
“The fundamental human right, the presupposition of every other right, is the right to life itself. This is true of life from the moment of conception until its natural end. Abortion, consequently, cannot be a human right — it is the very opposite. It is a deep wound in society.”
Pope Benedict XVI, July 7, 2007
“If you want equal justice for all, and true freedom and lasting peace, then, America, defend life! All the great causes that are yours today will have meaning only to the extent that you guarantee the right to life and protect the human person.”
Saint John Paul II, September 19, 1987
"For you deal here above all with human life, and human life is sacred; no one may dare make an attempt upon it."
Blessed Paul VI, October 4, 1695
“Human life is sacred: from its very inception, the creative action of God is directly operative. By violating His laws, the Divine Majesty is offended, the individuals themselves and humanity degraded, and likewise the community itself of which they are members is enfeebled.”
Saint John XXIII, May 15, 1961
“If you must choose between me and the baby, no hesitation; choose – and I demand it – the baby. Save the baby!”
Saint Gianna Molla, 1922 –1962
“America needs no words from me to see how your decision in Roe v. Wade has deformed a great nation. The so-called right to abortion has pitted mothers against their children and women against men. It has portrayed the greatest of gifts – a child – as a competitor, an intrusion, and an inconvenience. And, in granting this unconscionable power, it has exposed many women to unjust and selfish demands from their husbands or other sexual partners. Human rights are not a privilege conferred by government. They are every human being's entitlement by virtue of his humanity. The right to life does not depend, and must not be declared to be contingent, on the pleasure of anyone else, not even a parent or a sovereign."

Gospel of Life Prayer Saint Pope John Paul II |
Prayer for the Unborn Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI |
Mary,
bright dawn of the new world,
Mother of the living, to you do we entrust the cause of life Look down, O Mother, upon the vast numbers of babies not allowed to be born, of the poor whose lives are made difficult, of men and women who are victims of brutal violence, of the elderly and the sick killed by indifference or out of misguided mercy. Grant that all who believe in your Son may proclaim the Gospel of life with honesty and love to the people of our time. Obtain for them the grace to accept that Gospel as a gift ever new, the joy of celebrating it with gratitude throughout their lives and the courage to bear witness to it resolutely, in order to build, together with all people of good will, the civilization of truth and love, to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life. Amen |
Lord Jesus,
Prostrated before You, source and lover of Life, truly present and alive among us, we beg you. Reawaken in us respect for every unborn life, make us capable of seeing in the fruit of the maternal womb the miraculous work of the Creator, open our hearts to generously welcoming every child that comes into life. Bless all families, sanctify the union of spouses, render fruitful their love. Accompany the choices of legislative assemblies with the light of your Spirit, so that peoples and nations may recognize and respect the sacred nature of life, of every human life. Guide the work of scientists and doctors, so that all progress contributes to the integral well-being of the person, and no one endures suppression or injustice. Console the married couples who suffer because they are unable to have children and in Your goodness provide for them. Teach us all to care for orphaned or abandoned children, so they may experience the warmth of your Charity, the consolation of your divine Heart. Together with Mary, Your Mother, the great believer, in whose womb you took on our human nature, we wait to receive from You, our Only True Good and Savior, the strength to love and serve life, in anticipation of living forever in You, in communion with the Blessed Trinity.
Amen.
